Chinmaya Shripati - Beaumont

Chinmaya Mission Beaumont covers Texas’s Golden Triangle, which is comprised of three small cities: Beaumont, Port Arthur, and Orange.
When Subrah and Shyamala Cheruvu moved into the Golden Triangle in 1996, with Pujya Guruji Swami Tejomayananda’s blessings and the support of various community members, regular weekly classes for children/teens (Chinmaya Bala Vihar) and adults began under the formal name of Chinmaya Mission Beaumont. To date, classes continue throughout the year except in the summer.
A formal working committee was formed and approved by Pujya Guruji in 2006. CM Beaumont hosts 2-3 jnana yajnas annually.

Swami Paratmananda  is the Spiritual guide of Chinmaya Mission Beaumont. He hails from Andhra Pradesh, India. He had a happy childhood and was fond of visiting temples—to the extent that his grandfather told him that he would one day become a Sanyaasi.
He became involved with Chinmaya Mission as a youth and took the initiative of organizing Chinmaya Mission jnana yajnas. On February 9, 1992, he decided to join the Dharma Veera Course at the Chinmayaranyam ashram in Trikoota Kotappa Konda, under the tutelage of Pujya Swamini Saradapriyananda. He then joined the three-year Vedanta Course at Chinmayaranyam in 1993. Upon its completion, he initially served the Mission in white clothes based on his family’s request. In 1995, he began teaching Vedic chanting and Vedanta to the new Vedanta Course students. He also conducted satsangs and Gita chanting. Within three years, more than 26,000 students participated in the Gita Chanting Competitions that were organized in that area.
Recognizing his passion and commitment to Chinmaya Mission, his family permitted him to be initiated as a brahmachari in 1996, when he was named Brahmachari Bhasa Chaitanya.
He served at Chinmayaranyam until 2000 and also managed the CM ashram in Renigunta (near Tirupati) as its secretary. After serving at CM Houston 2006-2009, he was appointed to conduct the Purohit Course at the Chinmaya Gardens ashram in Coimbatore, India, 2010-2012.
He was bestowed sannyasa diksha (initiated as a renunciate) in the Chinmaya Mission order by Pujya Guruji Swami Tejomayananda on the sacred day of Mahashivaratri, February, 20, 2012.
