Our Pujya Gurudev’s entire life was about spreading the message of Bhagavad Gītā to one and all. He worked tirelessly to enable all of us to chant, understand and live Gītā!

With that vision, Pujya Swami Swaroopananda ji and Pujya Swami Tejomayananda ji have instructed each and everyone of us to focus on Bhagavad Gita especially as part of the Chinmaya Amrit Mahotsav, commemorating the 75 years of Chinmaya Movement.

Below initiatives are opportunities for all centers to align with Pujya Gurudev’s vision and spread the awareness of śrīmad-bhagavad-gītā actively, to celebrate this milestone.

Learning Bhagavad Gītā & Conducting Competitions on Gītā

Chapter 6 will be covered over a span of two academic years in Chinmaya Mission West Centers.

September 2026 to June, 2027: Chapter 6 – Learn to chant and memorize verses 1 – 23 from Chapter 6. Please refer to the learning resources published in this page.

Sep 2027 to June 2028: Chapter 6 – Learn to chant and memorize verses 24 – 47 from Chapter 6.

Centers are requested to conduct Regional competitions in May 2027 or earlier.
Note: No National or International Gita Chanting competitions are planned for the next upcoming two years. Please refer to the learning resources published in this page.

Chinmaya Mission West shall be conducting Gita Fest 2026 in Chinmaya Amarnath, PA, as part of the Amrit Mahotsav celebrations, in September 2026.

Gita Panchamrit
Pujya Guruji and Pujya Swami Swaroopananda ji have selected 5 verses from Bhagavad Gita for every one to memorize. These select verses encompass the essence of teaching of the Bhagavad Gītā.

These five verses are requested to be taught, chanted daily, and memorized by all.  Our goal is to have each and every child and adult know these verses of GITA.
